Three independent candidates seeking Tennessee’s governorship have laid out their views on state issues in detailed questionnaire responses ahead of the November election.
Lauren Pinkston, Misam Abidi and Robert C. Vick answered the policy questions as they compete in a field of 15 candidates. Nashville voters will help choose the next governor from a ballot that includes 13 independents, Republican Marsha Blackburn and Democrat Jerri Green.
Pinkston, Abidi and Vick represent only part of the independent field: Ten other candidates are also running without either major-party designation. The three respondents’ answers give voters a way to examine their stated policy positions as the statewide contest heads toward November.
