Detectives investigating a separate case in East Nashville heard gunfire Tuesday and arrested a man who denied that his weapon had fired, according to arrest documents.
The detectives were already working in the area when they heard the gunfire. Their investigation into the unrelated case preceded the incident that led to the arrest.
The man maintained that his weapon did not discharge, according to the documents.
