A Vanderbilt University football player faces multiple charges following a fight in downtown Nashville on Sunday, Oct. 11.
The wide receiver is accused of holding another person in a chokehold during the altercation. That accusation concerns the player's alleged conduct during the fight; the charges are not a finding of guilt.
The case involves a member of one of Nashville's major college athletics programs. Vanderbilt's football team competes in the Southeastern Conference and plays its home games on the university's campus west of downtown.
