A Nashville gaming shop lost more than $31,000 worth of rare Pokémon and Magic trading cards in a burglary involving two people.
The pair smashed into the business and targeted its valuable cards. The stolen merchandise included cards from both trading-card games, which have markets among players and collectors.
Rare trading cards can represent a significant share of a gaming shop’s inventory value. Unlike ordinary packs sold for play, individual collectible cards can command high prices, with their value depending on factors such as rarity, edition and condition.
