Irreverent Warriors is bringing its awareness efforts to Nashville through a group hike, connecting a local outing with the organization’s broader mission of supporting veterans and preventing veteran suicide.
The organization uses humor and camaraderie to bring veterans together. Its hikes offer a setting for participants to meet others with military experience and build relationships outside their everyday routines.
That emphasis on connection is central to Irreverent Warriors’ work: shared activities are a way to strengthen veterans’ support networks. The Nashville hike puts that mission into practice locally.
Veterans seeking immediate crisis support can call 988 and press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line, or text 838255. The service is available around the clock, and veterans do not need to be enrolled in Department of Veterans Affairs benefits or health care to use it.
